Sarah “Miss Teen USA” Palin

September 27, 2008

The video above is hilarious! It’s video footage of Miss Teen South Carolina during the Miss Teen USA pageant and her major screw up of the question and answer portion. But the AUDIO is from the Sarah Palin interview with CBS’s Katie Couric. Great mashup. I can’t wait for the vice presidential debate next week! :)

Debate Fact Checks

I almost always have CNN turned on, and I just found out that Obama flat-out LIED on last night’s debate! He stated last night

Here’s what I can tell the American people: 95 percent of you will get a tax cut.

But according to CNN’s fact-checking group that was a lie! The fact is that only 80% of ALL Americans will receive a tax break, while the remaining 20% (the wealthiest Americans) will have their taxes raised.

It is true, though, that 95% of WORKING FAMILIES will get a tax cut, not 95% of ALL Americans. He simply didn’t say it right, but his tax plan will promise giving working families a break. -phew-

First Presidential Debate: Who Won?

As I was watching the first presidential debate, the first forty or so minutes were mostly about the economy and their policies on spending and taxes. But towards the end, the senators started to focus on the topic of the debate, foreign policy. McCain seemed to hesitate on some questions, while Obama started off the debate really strong with a five-point plan on how to solve this economic crisis. I noticed how confident Obama was and how he calmly corrected McCain, becuase he really needed some correcting since he spun things in Obama’s record and policies. They both had strong points on how they would handle Russia, Iran, and even North Korea.

In my honest opinion, I thought that the debate was a draw, moslty becuase no one candidate had an extremely powerful point. This was their time to shine, but their performances were lackluster.

Sarah Failin’

September 25, 2008

This interview was horrible, not because of Katie Couric’s questions, but becuase of Sarah Palin’s answers.

How come she has done only a couple of one-on-one interviews with reporters? (Well, it’s obvious the GOP is afraid of her answers, and they should be, becuase, well… you did watch the video above, right?) Democratic VP Joe Biden, on the other hand, has done several one-on-one interviews and has answered numerous questions from reporters at rallies, meetings, etc.

UPDATE: An even better interview is here.

First Presidential Debate To Be Postponed

September 24, 2008

I’m right outside my class waiting for my professor to show up, and I was bored so I went to CNN.com and read about how John McCain will be suspending his campaign to return to Washington and help with the financial crisis. John McCain would also like for Obama to join him in suspending the campaign, and how Obama has asked the organizers of this Friday’s debate to maybe think about postponing it until further notice. :/

UPDATE: John McCain says that he wants this week’s debate postponed, while Barack Obama says that the debate must go on and that they can handle both situations.

Biden to Drop Out of VP Spot

September 24, 2008

Could the rumors be true? Will Joe Biden drop out of the vice presidential spot anytime now?

Rumor has it* that Joe Biden, Obama’s VP pick, may drop out from the VP spot becuase of health concerns. Biden and his wife are supposedly awaiting some bad news from their family physician, a diagnosis of some sort, and may decide to step down from his position as vice president for the Democratic ticket, and (this is the exciting part for me) Obama may ask Hillary Clinton to be his VP! AN OBAMA-CLINTON TICKET? IT’S LIKE A GIFT FROM ABOVE. :)

It’s possible, and it’s not like Obama is replacing Biden, but Biden has health problems that may keep him from doing his job to his full potential. Even Joe Biden himself said that Hillary Clinton would have been the better VP pick! We’ll see what happends between now and the first VICE presidential debate, October 2nd. (First presidential debate this Friday, September 26)
