What’s New?

December 16, 2008

I haven’t posted on my blog since September 29, 2008.
Today is December 16, 2008. It’s been almost three months since my last blog post. So, what’s new?

Politics

  1. We have a new president, President-elect Barack Obama. I am so relieved that Americans made the right choice for president and we are all ready to have our very first Hawaiian president. :)
  2. Senator Hillary Clinton has been tapped to be our next Secretary of Sate, which I think is wonderful. I’m still a little ticked that Barack didn’t choose her for his running-mate.
  3. Proposition 8 passed, by the slimmest of margins, in California. Thanks to the Church of Latter-day Saints and their tens of millions of dollars that were poured into California from Utah. The California Supreme Court will be taking a look at the proposition and its constitutionality very soon, though.

Entertainment

  1. Britney Spears released her real comeback album “Circus,” which was the #1 album in its first week of release, beating out Kanye West and BeyoncĂ©. Her first single “Womanizer” becomes #1, and her newest single “Circus” is on its way to the top. And I can’t stop listening to her album.
  2. Rosie O’Donnell’s variety show on NBC totally flopped. I watched the first five minutes and I completely understand why. I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of her again…
  3. Kathy Griffin’s comedy album “For Your Consideration,” made just to be considered for a Grammy, has been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Comedy Album! Yesssss.

My Life

  1. Just finished my first semester in college. One of the best experiences of my life, and the classes were a breeze — except for my stupid communications class where my extremely liberal professor tried to push his beliefs on us. I don’t think they were just coincidences that we watched several videos on war, religion, and sex.
  2. I volunteered at a local polling place on election day. Met some wonderful people. Who knew people were still so friendly here in Orange?
  3. I was hit by the “Twilight” bug after watching the movie. I’ve been reading the saga and it’s pretty amazing.

Hopefully this won’t be the last blog post this month. haha. :D

Perez Hilton: Gossip Gangster and… Musician?

September 25, 2008

The self-proclaimed Queen of All Media, Perez Hilton, is well-known for his extremely popular celebrity gossip blog (which I visit at least twice a day) and his rather interesting doodles on celebrity photos. He has recently expanded his media empire by adding his PerezTV videos to his blog, having a segment on an LA-based radio station, and even starting a line of clothing at Hot Topic.

Now, he has released his first single. That’s right, ladies and gents, Perez Hilton has just released his first song from a soundtrack that he is featured on. The soundtrack is from the movie Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild and his song will be featured during the movie’s end credits. He wrote the song’s lyrics, and he sings it, too. You can listen to the full song on his blog, and the single is now available for purchase on iTunes.

Maybe in a few weeks he will be the subject of celebrity gossip blogs, and maybe he’s the next Britney…

Happy Birthday Joe Jonas!

August 15, 2008

Today, August 15, is Joseph Adam Jonas’ 19th birthday! Happy Birthday! haha. :)

“A Little Bit Longer”

August 13, 2008

The cover of the Jonas Brothers' new CD.

Yesterday, the Jonas Brothers’ third studio album, “A Little Bit Longer,” went on sale and my little sister, being the huge Jonas Brothers fan, got the 2-disc Special Edition Target exclusive. I gave the CD a listen and I was blown away by how good the music was! It may be a tweeny-bopper band popularized by Disney, but the music was amazing, and I completely forgot that I was listening to a band on the Hollywood Records label (Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, and the like are also on this Disney-owned label)!

The first song, “BB Good” is a really upbeat song and a great way to start off the album, and the second song is their popular “Burnin’ Up.” Those two songs and “Pushin’ Me Away” are my favorite songs on the album. If you haven’t picked up this CD, you should go today and enjoy the music.
But you have to decide what Bonus YOU want…

  • Wal-Mart Bonus Track: “Live to Party”
  • Target Bonus Track: “Hello Goodbye” + Bonus Exclusive DVD
  • Best Buy Bonus Track: “Out of This World”

I think the Jonas Brothers have another hit CD in their hands. :D

- Read the Rolling Stone review.
- Buy on iTunes.

Burnin’ Up in Hell

August 7, 2008

So tonight I was watching Kathy Griffin’s Bravo Special “Straight to Hell,” which is Emmy nominated, and I was totally into it and laughing my ass off and everything, but then my friend Nicole sent me a text message and it read “turn to channel 11,” which is FOX here, and I think to myself, “I really don’t want to watch some lame reality show on FOX.” I turn the channel, and I see the Jonas Brothers performing their hit “Burnin’ Up” on “So You Think You Can Dance!” I was like “thank youuu, Nicole!” ;)

Before the amazingness that is Kathy Griffin PLUS the Jo Bros, I watched Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which was really crazy because Kathy played Segway polo, played matchmaker for her friend, and attended some Fur Ball with Steve Wozniak. Yeah. Crazy. But next week is the season finale, which is kind of a bummer because how am I supposed to get my fix of Kathy Griffin after this? Oh, that’s right! I have her CD! haha…

Tomorrow: haircut + Pineapple Express. :D

This Should Be A New Anti-Drug Campaign

August 7, 2008
What drugs can do to your body.

What drugs can do to your body.

I’m speechless. I never knew that Amy Winehouse looked like that before getting all drugged up. I really think the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, who is running those “Above the Influence” ads, should use this instead. :D
