Debate Fact Checks

I almost always have CNN turned on, and I just found out that Obama flat-out LIED on last night’s debate! He stated last night

Here’s what I can tell the American people: 95 percent of you will get a tax cut.

But according to CNN’s fact-checking group that was a lie! The fact is that only 80% of ALL Americans will receive a tax break, while the remaining 20% (the wealthiest Americans) will have their taxes raised.

It is true, though, that 95% of WORKING FAMILIES will get a tax cut, not 95% of ALL Americans. He simply didn’t say it right, but his tax plan will promise giving working families a break. -phew-

First Presidential Debate: Who Won?

As I was watching the first presidential debate, the first forty or so minutes were mostly about the economy and their policies on spending and taxes. But towards the end, the senators started to focus on the topic of the debate, foreign policy. McCain seemed to hesitate on some questions, while Obama started off the debate really strong with a five-point plan on how to solve this economic crisis. I noticed how confident Obama was and how he calmly corrected McCain, becuase he really needed some correcting since he spun things in Obama’s record and policies. They both had strong points on how they would handle Russia, Iran, and even North Korea.

In my honest opinion, I thought that the debate was a draw, moslty becuase no one candidate had an extremely powerful point. This was their time to shine, but their performances were lackluster.

Sarah Failin’

September 25, 2008

This interview was horrible, not because of Katie Couric’s questions, but becuase of Sarah Palin’s answers.

How come she has done only a couple of one-on-one interviews with reporters? (Well, it’s obvious the GOP is afraid of her answers, and they should be, becuase, well… you did watch the video above, right?) Democratic VP Joe Biden, on the other hand, has done several one-on-one interviews and has answered numerous questions from reporters at rallies, meetings, etc.

UPDATE: An even better interview is here.

Why John McCain Called a “Time-out”

September 25, 2008

Watch the video above and learn why (or at least speculation as to why) John McCain has decided to call a “time-out” from campaigning.

McCain Used ‘American Idol’ Makeup Artist

How funny: John McCain has criticized Barack Obama for his so-called “celebrity status,” yet he has hired an ‘American Idol’ makeup artist to do his makeup for interviews, photos, etc. McCain paid the makeup artist $5,583.43 for her services! (source) Now who is the celebrity?

First Presidential Debate To Be Postponed

September 24, 2008

I’m right outside my class waiting for my professor to show up, and I was bored so I went to CNN.com and read about how John McCain will be suspending his campaign to return to Washington and help with the financial crisis. John McCain would also like for Obama to join him in suspending the campaign, and how Obama has asked the organizers of this Friday’s debate to maybe think about postponing it until further notice. :/

UPDATE: John McCain says that he wants this week’s debate postponed, while Barack Obama says that the debate must go on and that they can handle both situations.

John McCain – Unfit to Lead (Video)

August 14, 2008

Watch this really interesting video from YouTube.

I don’t know what to say about this video. I don’t even know if it is somewhat factual or total b.s. I DO know that I don’t want him as our president, and I didn’t support him before the video.

Trouble for Obama?

August 8, 2008

With John Edwards admitting to having an extramarital affair, and his constant dismissal of that “tabloid trash,” (which turned out to be TRUE) will the endorsement hurt Obama? If you remember, much after dropping out of the race Edwards told his supporters at a rally that he endorsed Senator Barack Obama for president, and now this story all over the news, will people — and by people I mean John McCain’s campaign — take this and spin it around into something negative? McCain’s camp has already turned Obama’s so-called “celebrity status” into something negative and even going as far as comparing him to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears! Hopefully, both John Edwards and Barack Obama will keep their chins up high and ignore all of the mud-slinging that McCain seems to be always doing.

Paris Hilton Strikes Back

August 5, 2008

We’ve all seen John McCain’s attack ad, either on TV or on YouTube, right? If you haven’t, you need to watch the video, above, because it’s pretty low for an attack ad.

Well, I guess Paris Hilton was not very happy with McCain using footage of her in his attack ad against Obama, so she came out on FunnyOrDie.com and gave her two cents on this whole thing, and I’ve got to say that it is pretty funny. To see it now click here.
