What’s New?

December 16, 2008

I haven’t posted on my blog since September 29, 2008.
Today is December 16, 2008. It’s been almost three months since my last blog post. So, what’s new?

Politics

  1. We have a new president, President-elect Barack Obama. I am so relieved that Americans made the right choice for president and we are all ready to have our very first Hawaiian president. :)
  2. Senator Hillary Clinton has been tapped to be our next Secretary of Sate, which I think is wonderful. I’m still a little ticked that Barack didn’t choose her for his running-mate.
  3. Proposition 8 passed, by the slimmest of margins, in California. Thanks to the Church of Latter-day Saints and their tens of millions of dollars that were poured into California from Utah. The California Supreme Court will be taking a look at the proposition and its constitutionality very soon, though.

Entertainment

  1. Britney Spears released her real comeback album “Circus,” which was the #1 album in its first week of release, beating out Kanye West and Beyoncé. Her first single “Womanizer” becomes #1, and her newest single “Circus” is on its way to the top. And I can’t stop listening to her album.
  2. Rosie O’Donnell’s variety show on NBC totally flopped. I watched the first five minutes and I completely understand why. I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of her again…
  3. Kathy Griffin’s comedy album “For Your Consideration,” made just to be considered for a Grammy, has been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Comedy Album! Yesssss.

My Life

  1. Just finished my first semester in college. One of the best experiences of my life, and the classes were a breeze — except for my stupid communications class where my extremely liberal professor tried to push his beliefs on us. I don’t think they were just coincidences that we watched several videos on war, religion, and sex.
  2. I volunteered at a local polling place on election day. Met some wonderful people. Who knew people were still so friendly here in Orange?
  3. I was hit by the “Twilight” bug after watching the movie. I’ve been reading the saga and it’s pretty amazing.

Hopefully this won’t be the last blog post this month. haha. :D

Bigfoot Find a Big Hoax

August 15, 2008

The press conference held today by the three men that had found the Bigfoot in Georgia was attended and watched by many. (You can watch the press conference here.) But some of the major news groups and actual Bigfoot believers were skeptical, calling the trio liars, and calling the whole thing a big hoax.

The supposed frozen body was actually a popular Halloween costume stuffed in cooler with some extra animal parts for added effect.

The group of men who “found” the body aren’t even Bigfoot hunters or anything, they’re really just some con artists trying to get the media’s attention while they get book deals, tv spots, etc.

Sorry everyone, but this whole thing was a hoax. :(

Last Night’s “D-List” Finale

August 15, 2008

Last night I watched the season finale of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and it almost made me cry. It was really tough for me to watch this episode only because of the different states that those brave soldiers were in. It was really tough for Kathy to be there, too; in one scene Kathy is out of sight of the recovering soldiers and she just breaks down and cries (at which point I almost cried because when I see someone cry it makes me want to cry). But what I really enjoyed about last night’s episode was that Kathy wanted to make the soldiers laugh, and lift their spirits up a little bit. Also, I saw how strong those soldiers were, not to mention how incredibly strong their families were. Though some soldiers were going through a really tough time of their life, I was surprised at how positive they were and how happy most of them were. It kind of made me think about all of the men and women fighting for our country, and how amazing these soldiers are.

I can’t wait until next season! :)

What a Californian Adventure

August 11, 2008

Today was AMAZING. I went to Disney’s California Adventure with my best friends Myka and Jordan and it was a blast! I finally went on Toy Story Mania and it has to be one of my favorite rides. After that we went on California Screamin’ (not once, but three times total)! My throat still hurts from screaming so much! Hahaha. Then, we had lunch at Pacific Wharf Cafe and I had corn chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and it was absolutely delicious! But it was too much for me to eat, so I had to throw away most of it… I felt so guilty. hahaha. Myka had a salad in a sourdough bread bowl and she too had too much and had to throw away the rest. All three of us were stuffed, but then right after that we went on California Screamin’ then on the Hollywood Tower of Terror. hahaha. I was glad that I didn’t puke. After that, we went on the Ferris wheel on the pier while I enjoyed a sour watermelon slushy in my High School Musical souvenir cup. hahaha. yup. I’m cool like that. After that, we went home to relax a little before heading over to Nicole’s house, where we watched MTV’s NEXT and laughed our asses off. To top off the night, we stopped at Rite Aid and got some ice cream to calm or cravings. Hahaha. I’ll upload pics tomorrow. :)

A Sunday in Perris

August 10, 2008

Today was pretty LAME, and I think that’s an understatement. I love my family, but today my dad forced me and my sister to go with him and our step-mom to Perris, CA. Now, Perris is not like Orange at all. AT ALL. I like to call ghettotown, ghettoville, ghettocentral. It’s a scary place and I didn’t enjoy the triple-digit heat, either. Yeah, that’s it for today, I’m tired and I’m going to Disneyland tomorrow. Peace.

R.I.P. Bernie Mac (10/5/1957 – 8/9/2008)

August 9, 2008

Actor/Comedian Bernie Mac has died this Saturday morning, at the age of fifty, of complications from pneumonia in a hospital near Chicago, Ill. May he rest in peace. Mac’s good friend and co-star George Clooney couldn’t have said it better:

The world just got a little less funny…

Burnin’ Up in Hell

August 7, 2008

So tonight I was watching Kathy Griffin’s Bravo Special “Straight to Hell,” which is Emmy nominated, and I was totally into it and laughing my ass off and everything, but then my friend Nicole sent me a text message and it read “turn to channel 11,” which is FOX here, and I think to myself, “I really don’t want to watch some lame reality show on FOX.” I turn the channel, and I see the Jonas Brothers performing their hit “Burnin’ Up” on “So You Think You Can Dance!” I was like “thank youuu, Nicole!” ;)

Before the amazingness that is Kathy Griffin PLUS the Jo Bros, I watched Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which was really crazy because Kathy played Segway polo, played matchmaker for her friend, and attended some Fur Ball with Steve Wozniak. Yeah. Crazy. But next week is the season finale, which is kind of a bummer because how am I supposed to get my fix of Kathy Griffin after this? Oh, that’s right! I have her CD! haha…

Tomorrow: haircut + Pineapple Express. :D

This Should Be A New Anti-Drug Campaign

August 7, 2008
What drugs can do to your body.

What drugs can do to your body.

I’m speechless. I never knew that Amy Winehouse looked like that before getting all drugged up. I really think the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, who is running those “Above the Influence” ads, should use this instead. :D
