Just wondering… who’s idea was it to put a fat Santa and snowmen on ties?

December 19, 2008Dreams Are Crazy
December 17, 2008
I have no idea what dreams mean, but my dream last night has to be the craziest dream I have EVER had. So crazy, in fact, that while I was in the shower this morning was laughing hysterically just thinking about it. I just have to blog about it. If you happen to be a dream interpreter, please read on. If you’re just a (semi-)normal person like me, please read on.
Okay, so it all starts with my dad, my little sister, and I showing up at a huge old Victorian-style home. We walk in and all of a sudden I notice that my dad doesn’t look Hispanic anymore, but instead he looks African-American. Anyway, we walk around this huge ol’ house and we walk up to a couple of bounce houses to where some little kids were having a blast. These kids were like four years old and had blond, curly hair. So my dad and I just stand there for a bit, watching the kids bounce, then I turn to me left and see that Elisabeth Hasselbeck, from ABC’s “The View,” is also there watching these kids. I’m like “Oh! Hey!” and she kind of turns to me and smiles her fake smile, like she always does on television, and turns back to the kids. She then starts talking to me about how her oldest boy is in Sarah Palin’s class at my sister’s school. Yeah, Sarah Palin at La Veta elementary. So I tell her, “Oh, really? No way! My sister is in her class, too! How neat…”
After a few minutes, all of sudden there’s a ton of media on the front yard of the house, and it turns out to be some kind of news conference called by Sarah Palin! So I follow Elisabeth to the where the media is and Sarah Palin comes out with a stack of papers and starts to talk about her class and her expectations for the new school year. She talks about rules and the load of homework and whatnot, and I yell out loud “Wait! What? Oh, my sister’s not even in this class! Sorry, Mrs. Palin!” and I leave. (Crazy, right?!)
So now I’m back inside the huge house, and this middle-aged woman approaches me and asks me “Would you like to dog sit?” and I say “Sure, why not?” and so she hands me a green leash with a large, thin, brown dog. It kind of looked like a greyhound. So then I notice this dog is holding another leash! On the other end of his green leash is a little squirrel! So I take them outside and start walking them and the dog goes absolutely bananas on me and is climbing trees and eating grass and the leash is like stretchy so the dog is going all over the place, just pulling me like a rag doll. And then the dog goes around the house and pulls my hand into a rose bush! And my wrist has like thorns and is bleeding profusely and has huge bullet-size wounds in it and I wake up to excruciating pain in my right wrist. I wake up and my wrist hurts like a mother! So I check for blood and I feel it to make sure it’s fine and everything is fine.
Yup. Crazy dream, right? And I swear I went to sleep sober.
I’m actually really surprised at how much I remembered! I think this was my only dream last night…
Anyway, thanks for reading and if you happen to be able to interpret dreams, hit me up!
What’s New?
December 16, 2008I haven’t posted on my blog since September 29, 2008.
Today is December 16, 2008. It’s been almost three months since my last blog post. So, what’s new?
Politics
- We have a new president, President-elect Barack Obama. I am so relieved that Americans made the right choice for president and we are all ready to have our very first Hawaiian president.
- Senator Hillary Clinton has been tapped to be our next Secretary of Sate, which I think is wonderful. I’m still a little ticked that Barack didn’t choose her for his running-mate.
- Proposition 8 passed, by the slimmest of margins, in California. Thanks to the Church of Latter-day Saints and their tens of millions of dollars that were poured into California from Utah. The California Supreme Court will be taking a look at the proposition and its constitutionality very soon, though.
Entertainment
- Britney Spears released her real comeback album “Circus,” which was the #1 album in its first week of release, beating out Kanye West and BeyoncĂ©. Her first single “Womanizer” becomes #1, and her newest single “Circus” is on its way to the top. And I can’t stop listening to her album.
- Rosie O’Donnell’s variety show on NBC totally flopped. I watched the first five minutes and I completely understand why. I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of her again…
- Kathy Griffin’s comedy album “For Your Consideration,” made just to be considered for a Grammy, has been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Comedy Album! Yesssss.
My Life
- Just finished my first semester in college. One of the best experiences of my life, and the classes were a breeze — except for my stupid communications class where my extremely liberal professor tried to push his beliefs on us. I don’t think they were just coincidences that we watched several videos on war, religion, and sex.
- I volunteered at a local polling place on election day. Met some wonderful people. Who knew people were still so friendly here in Orange?
- I was hit by the “Twilight” bug after watching the movie. I’ve been reading the saga and it’s pretty amazing.
Hopefully this won’t be the last blog post this month. haha.
